根據記者Tim Kawakami消息，快艇隊前鋒Paul George在自由市場開市以前，原本想要執行球員選項尋求加入至勇士隊，但是快艇不原意做出這筆交易，Paul George最後決定成為自由球員。
記者提到勇士隊兩位元老Stephen Curry、 Draymond Green都也希望可以迎來Paul George加盟，勇士隊也願意提供Paul George四年延長合約，給了快艇許多交易方案，但是快艇都拒絕配合此交易發生。
勇士在交易包裹中被提出有放Andrew Wiggins, Chris Paul, Jonathan Kuminga, Moses Moody，甚至是首輪籤，但是快艇全部拒絕。
因為勇士隊沒有薪資空間關係，無法直接簽下Paul George，現在Paul George預計只會與七六人和快艇碰面，協商下份合約。
